Gibraltar Morning

For many years Spain has been a favourite destination for British holidaymakers who mostly are attracted to the “Costas“. There are, however, many beautiful towns and villages well away from the beaten track for people to explore and enjoy.

Velez Blanco is a beautiful hill town in the South of Spain dominated by the massive bulk of its castle. Castillo de Vélez-Blanco sits proudly atop a hill overlooking the town. Located in the province of Almería, in the autonomous community of Andalusia Velez Blanco sits in the Sierra Maria range at 1070m / 3500ft.

Velez Rubio is a municipality in the province of Almería, in the autonomous community of Andalusia. Located in the Sierra Maria mountain range Velez Rubio has an elevation of 847 m (2,779 ft)

Lorca is a city in the community of Murcia in southeastern Spain. Lorca was the frontier town between Christian and Muslim Spain in the Middle Ages. Seriously hit by an earthquake in 2011, many of the city's buildings were damaged - including the Castle walls and the Collegiate Church of San Patricio.
